Self Defense always has a early middle and late phase in different situations. My top 7 moves I teach in Self Defense Class are:

1.Same Side and Cross Side Wrist Sweep
2.Same Side Peel with Arm Bar
3.Cross Side Peel with Wrist Lock
4.Inside and Outside Rolling Elbows
5.Bear Hug Escape.

These can be used as passive moves in a social situation and can be advanced for a situation that may be late phase or more dangerous scenarios.
